Revised International Travel Guidelines for Visitors to India

The Government of India has implemented a set of guidelines for international travelers, effective from February 14, 2022. These protocols are designed to ensure the safety and well-being of both travelers and the general population. Here are the key requirements:

  1. Self-Declaration Form: Prior to travel, all international travelers must complete a self-declaration form with accurate and comprehensive information. This form can be accessed through the online Air Suvidha portal at https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration. Travelers should provide details of their travel history for the last 14 days.
  2. COVID-19 Test or Vaccination Certificate: Travelers must upload either a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test report or a certificate confirming completion of the full primary vaccination schedule for COVID-19. The RT-PCR test should have been conducted within 72 hours before the journey.
  3. Post-Arrival Testing: As a precautionary measure, 2% of the total passengers on each flight will be randomly selected for post-arrival testing at the airport.
  4. Self-Monitoring of Health: All travelers are required to self-monitor their health for a period of 14 days after arrival. If any signs or symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 develop during this self-monitoring period, travelers must immediately self-isolate and report to the nearest health facility.
  5. Exemptions for Children: Children under the age of 5 are exempted from both pre- and post-arrival testing. However, if they display symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival or during the self-monitoring period, they will undergo testing and be treated according to the established protocols.

These measures are in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health and safety of the Indian population. It is important for all international travelers to adhere to these guidelines and cooperate with the authorities to ensure a safe travel experience.
